17 Aug 07 - 2007 Sun'n Fun Judging Award for Best Type Powered Para Glider - Javier & Jose from Aerolight, Miami, Flordia won the best type Powered Para Glider under the ultralight category for the Fly Products ECO 2. Myself and Scott Addair were caught in the Sun & Fun photo looking over the unit. The ECO 2 is similar to the ECO 4 I own, the only difference is the ECO 2 has the 2 stroke Rotax engine and the ECO 4 has the Flanders 4 stroke engine.  The next SUN'nFUN annual convention is April 8-13, 2008.  This is the second largest aviation convention of its kind with something for everyone.  See link  http://www.sun-n-fun.org/content/

15 Aug 07 - My wrist cast saga lives on!! -  I was looking forward to getting my cast taken off today and getting Physio started this week. However my X-ray had shown that my lower wrist bone (Ulna) was only about 50% healed. This bone was crushed and took most of the damage to my wrist. The doc was not too happy about my physiotherapy (Flying, lifting, etc, etc) and had sternly lectured me on no movement of the wrist to allow it to properly heal!! Well, to make a long story short I'm not a very good patient and I'm back into a 1/2 cast.  My next appointment will be in another month. Hopefully by then,  I'll be cast free and ready for physio!! Till then, I'm grounded for the next month. The good news is that I still can teach, and my students won't have to wait . I'm starting courses this week-end coming.

14 Aug 07 - Cool Poster!! - Wow, the weather lately has been outstanding for flying. Ed and I flew another 1 1/2 hour flight this morning. Check out this cool poster shot. Here's a copy for your screen saver or you can print off a copy. Enjoy!!

13 Aug 07 - PARMOTOR MAGAZINE - The second issue of Paramotor Magazine is out with all the latest news and stories in paramotoring.  I received my last week.  For more info click on the link  http://www.paramotormag.com

12 Aug 07 - Beautiful Cross Country Flight this morning!!  - Ed,Tim and Mark had joined Jo and I for a nice XC flight this morning around the Sussex area. The flight lasted around 1 1/2 hours on average and we flew approx 25 kms round trip. The air was silky smooth and warm and the view was spectacular!! See Video - Beautiful Day    (few pics below)

11 Aug 07 - Finally I had a chance to fly!!-  As you are probably aware, I had broken my wrist several weeks ago and I have been unable to fly. I still have my wrist in a cast but I've been working on getting strength back by pulling back on my wrist (something like pulling on your risers). I knew that I was unable to fly footlaunch (increased chance of falling on injured side) but trike seemed a possibility.. I figured I had just enough strength to pull a riser during inflation. Well, I had no choice but to give it a try and this morning I was at the field hooked up and ready to go. The inflation went well, a little weak on my injured side but I had compensated by braking the opposite side to stabilize the glider. I went for a great XC flight and it was outstanding to get back into the air!! (Few Pics)

10 Aug 07 - New link added - A past student history link has been added to our site. It takes a quick snap shot of the students that trained at PPGNB. See Link

10 Aug 07 - Kevin completed his training - Student 07/07  - The weather conditions were excellent this morning and Kev was highly motivated to complete his qualification flights. He had picked up the launch and landing procedure very quickly and had no problems finishing off his flights. Kev flew from 0600-1000am with only short breaks in between. However, he is sore and he'll be feeling it later on!! Great work Kev and welcome to the PPG world of flight!! (Few Pics)

8 Aug 07 - New Line of NOMAD Paramotors added to PPGNB's equipment -  First thing I would like to mention is that the Nomad paramotor line is an addition to our paramotor line and not an replacement of Walkerjet paramotors.  Most PPG schools have more than one type of paramotor to choose from for their customers.  I wanted a good and reliable paramotor that has been in business for at least as long as Walkerjet. Nomad paramotors is owned by Raynald Tremblay of Quebec Canada. Raynald has been building paramotors for over 12 years and has built many paramotors for Large PPG schools such as Paratour/Fly by Ranch/Para-Motor City/Paramotion/Airvoilemoteur. Raynald and his partner Cyril Sancey completely build the Nomad line of paramotors as well as the assembly of the engines received from Italy. They are very meticulous in their work and each complete paramotor is run in and thrust tested to ensure that the motor is running 100% for their customers. They are also PPG instructors that run the PPG school Airvoilemoteur.

Johanne and I had decided to go to Quebec to get a chance to look at Raynald's shop as well as learn the correct set-up and adjustment of their paramotors. I'm glad we did because the set up procedure was quite different than Walkerjet due to high hangpoints (J Bars) and different type of harness. Here's a few pics of the visit.

Here's the new addition of paramotors and trikes added to our equipment list:

Nomad Paramotors

Nomad Paramotor Trikes - Note* can be modified to fit a Walkerjet Paramotor

Mini PPC - The mini PPC is a single seat trike that has instrumentation as well as a roll bar and a small windshield in front of the pilot. It is powered with an aircraft rated Hirth F-33 engine with dual ignition and a 3 bladed carbon fiber adjustable prop. The paraglider is attached to the airframe by an attachment point that simplifies the launch procedure by eliminating the risers, great for new pilot's. This unit also has winter accessories by adding ski's. Fly all year round!! (Few pics of the unit)

6 August 07 - Kevin's 2nd day of flying  - Kev had flown several flights this morning and has reached the stage of unassisted flights. Good work Kev!!

5 August 07 - Kevin's 1st Parmotor Flight this morning!! - Kevin's dream to fly came true this morning!!(Few Pics)

4 August 07 - Kevin continues training  - Yesterday and today Kevin continued his ground training and he is now at the flying stage and ready to fly. All we require is Mother Nature to Co-operate.

3 August 07 - Walkerjet Spider makeover - Mike from PEI gave a customize paint job to his Walkerjet Spider and added a few things.

31 July 07 - Ron complete's his course - Ron had started his course last year but required a few more flights to complete the minimum amount for his PPG qualification. Ron had showed up later on in the day and completed those flights to complete his course. Ron is the oldest PPG student pilot that I had trained, 64 years young foot launch!! Well done. Few Pics

17 July 07 - PAP Paramotors adopts the new W200 engine designed by Walkerjet's owner Viktor Prochazka -  Viktor has been very busy designing his own series of paramotor engines for his company Walkerjet. He is also having great sales with other well known world class Paramotor companies buying his engines for their paramotor frames.   Viktor's engines are so well received that he had started a parallel company providing world class paramotor engines. The name of the company is http://www.flyengines.com/  This is a great testament to the knowledge of technical expertise of Walkerjet staff.

This is great news for Walkerjet, the more pilots flying the engines the more feedback we get back from other pilots. Viktor is very motivated on providing the very best engines for paramotors.

Below is an example of one company (PAP Paramotors) who had tested the W200 engine and is very pleased with the performance. This motor is mounted on the Walkerjet RR. For more info this is the link to their web site. http://www.papteam.com/pap_news_eng.htm

NEW PAP 1400 F2 23-abr-07

After almost 2 years without any paramotor in our range with more than 70 kg of push to do professional tandem, and all type of works which require much power, we have the pleasure to inform you that we have found the engine we were looking for. After several months testing it, we have it now in our range.

It will be available in only 140 cms frame with 125 cms propeller, fitted as standard very reforced with bars of triangulation with the purpose to give the maximum rigidity that it will be necessary in the takeoffs it will have. It has a unique electric starter with incorporated pulsor in the accelerator and will come also with CDI and stainless steel exhaust.

The push, we measured in our bank is of 78 kg (156 pounds) to 8.000rpm. To let you know, as indication, the old engine Black Devil we used before, had 66 kg (132 pounds) to 7.700 rpm with a 122 cms propeller. This paraengine, we call PAP 1400 F2, is indicated to very heavy pilots, the ones who use trikes and to all those that will fly in tandem very often. In no case we are going to recommend this paraengine to pilots under 90 kgs (180 pounds) than fly in single, since we have in our range paraengines much more pleasant.

The engine is very narrow and only weights 14 kgs, but all the paraengine weights 30kg. The level of noise is very acceptable and we only can emphasize vibrations between 4.000 and 5.000 rpm which does not have greater importance since in flight we never use those regimes. As you can see in the pictures, the CDI as the batteries are installated in an aluminum box made to measure, offering a level of finishing never seen before in electrical starter.

For the security subject, we can emphasize that if the pilots in landings forgets to disconnect the circuit by the swicht which is on the superior part of the black box, a system does it automatically after 5 minutes, doing impossible to start it in case somebody touch the propeller. The two-blade propeller could be an option since the three-blade propeller comes as standard.

Unfortunately , there were no other pilots other than a  PPC in which he flew with for a short time. There are several PPG pilots in the Fredericton area and in the fall they're will be more to come!!

9 July 07  - Visitors from Levis Quebec -   Raynald and his wife were passing through on the way from St Louis De Kent N.B and had dropped by to visit. Raynald has been in the PPG business for twelve years, he is an instructor as well as manufacturers his own brand of paramotors.  Raynald took advantage of the flyable weather this evening to get in a short flight. (Few pics)
