- Trying out the Xenit Trike - I flew the new Xenit Trike by Fly
Products today. Due to the light weight of the trike and a simonini powereing up a
59" prop I had the opportunity to fly my 24 Rev glider. Boy, it's fast!!

18 Nov 09 - Day
trip to Miami - Javier and Jose are the PPG owers of Aeorlight who are one
of my PPG suppliers. PPGNB recently purchased a 2009 FLY - XENIT Trike equipped for
single or tandem flying. This unit is portable and a great way for Johanne and I to
fly together in the US.

- Flying in Florida - This is a regular morning here in Christmas,
Florida. The Florida Para-Flyers have all the opportunites to fly everyday in warmer
conditions. The PPG Barge is always ready to take pilots and family members on the
St John River to meet new friends.

12 Nov 09 - South
of the Border Roadtrip - Johanne and I followed the snowbirds south of the
border this morning and three days later we were happy to be in Sunny Florida with
our American PPG friends again. Received an email from Bob stating he was able to
fly with Glen over 90 minutes in the Fredericton area. Since his retirement late
August, Bob has over sixthy flights! Here are a few pictures of the area.

flew the Excitor for the last time before I winterize her. Jo and I depart on the
12th to the USA for six months. We will be visiting many PPG Schools and attending
several PPG Fly-Ins this winter in Florida, Texas, Arizona and California. During
the winter months you can always reach us by email and cell. Looking forward to fly
with my American and Canadian friends again this winter in warmer conditions and will keep
updating our website during our travels. I hope all pilot's have a good winter flying
season and please keep the pics of your flight's coming!! Fly Safe!!

you're flying along!! A CTV cameramen had taken a video of Bob flying around
yesterday in the Fredericton area. It was televised on Live at 5 News and CTV Late
night News. The pics below are from Bob and Paul's flight this morning. Great
pictures Bob.

Jemseg Flight - Guenther was away so Jim and Mark took advantage of good air
to fly around Duck country in the Jemseg area. Jim flew his Flash tike for the first time
in which he was very impressed with the trike's performance. Mark had taken a pic of his
Fusion risers showing how far the C&D risers move up when in reflex.

- Fredericton Boys flew this morning - Bob, Glen and Paul flew this morning
from Weyman's Field just outside of Fredericton, NB. Nice to see motivated pilot's
flying in -4C weather. Unfortunately for me, my training field was just recently
completely flooded from a huge rainstorm. I'm hoping it will dry up soon so that I
can get some airtime also.

We're Back - After 25 days away from home and a month since I flew, the
frost and cold temperature was not enough to keep
me away from flying this
morning. Actually the weather in Alberta was at times -8C with lots of snow, so
NB weather was all good. I took the Excitor out for a flight and knowing it was
forecasted to be -5C, I had to dress for the occasion.
For new guy's in this
sport, winter flying is very good but if you want to fly more than 15 minutes you
have to dress warm. I recommend a snow
suit, nice warm boots with
some sort of grip and Gerbing electric gloves. The first thing that will freeze will
be your hands due to they are usually above your shoulders in an upright position,
therefore they have less blood flow. I can tell you I've tried everything out there
to try to keep my hands warm. I tried Canadian Tire C cell battery gloves, heat pack's,
lobster hand gloves (Three finger's), they all worked somewhat but without doubt
the best gloves are the
Gerbing electric gloves.
Here's the link http://gerbing.com/Products/gloves.html
They're not cheap but if you want to get in some serious winter flying they're a must!!
If you do not have a battery
or charging system with your paramotor you can purchase a separate battery pack that
should last you around an
hour of flight. This
morning's flight temp was -5C. If you add the winds it was quite cold. During the whole
flight my hands were toasty warm. If it wasn't for the winds I could have flown off a
complete tank of fuel.
This morning's flight was
good except that winds aloft were at approx 60 km's at 600'. I was literally parked for
most of the flight in which lasted
45 minutes. The air was
pretty smooth but I could see that the fast air aloft was starting to make it down to the
surface. I enjoyed the flight even though I only flew a short distance. Few pics
