13 Dec 09  -  Nice flying along the St John River - Most of this week we had a rash of overcast windy, rainy weather. But, yes at least it wasn't cold!! However, it did put a dampner on flying these last couple of days. This morning, although not forcasted to be great turned out very good flying conditions. There was a good show up of pilot's this morning and we had to take both boats. When we arrived at our launch site there were a herd of cows awaiting for us, they knew they had to leave but they made sure they dropped up some fresh dung for the boy's before departing. I was the first pilot in the air and the conditions were  pretty good with low winds and a light fog cover.  We flew an XC around 35 kms this morning following the St John River.   It was fun!!

8 Dec 09  -  Attaching speedbar to the Xenit trike - This morning I had attached my speedbar and lowered my wing tip steering toggles so that I can go full reflex to get maximum speed out of the Xenit.  Unfortunately, low level fog banks moved in soon after take off and the test flight with full speedbar will have to wait.   However, I did get a quick chance to go to full reflex with using my wing tip steering.  With Glen's help I had readjusted the speedbar to be ready for the next flight.  Due to the Exenit's low weight (127 lbs) I can safely attach my 24M revolution, and with the power of the Simonini with the 59" prop I have plenty of power to maintain altitude in full reflex and speedbar. I'm quite certain that this unit will fly faster than the Xcitor.

6 Dec 09  -  After the rain - Sunday was the first day out flying after three days of rain.  Dan from Ontario, Canada was down for the weekend and he totally enjoyed himself with the Florida Para Flyers.  The field was wet and that could not stop us from flying in low winds.  When we were packing up I could hear Dan saying, "do I really have to go home".

20 - 22  Nov 09  -  Green Card Fly-In - Johanne and I arrived a few days ago to attend Eric and Elisabeth Green Card Fly-In in Christmas, Florida.  They had 56 invited pilots on the weekend flying from the field and off the St John River.  A few pilots received their Gator Tipping Badge and Phil was able to film Jeff and the Florida Para Flyers during a fly by formation. Saturday night Eric and Elisabeth hosted a private dinner in the Glider Shop full of special friends getting together again. There were a few guest speakers and everyone enjoyed themselves.
