25 May
11 - Why Not! - The Weyman pilots from
Fredericton seen a little break in the weather and took the small opportunity to get out
fly. The wet weather has growing the grass but that hasn't stop me from grooming and
landscaping to improving my airstrip. Looking forward to bringing the
Challenger II home.
22 May 11 - Lovely
Evening - As usual Bob and Dave always take
advantage of the lovely evening in the Fredericton area. It's been another long week
with lots of rain which put a damper on my training schedule and training field still
drenched. I've been keeping busy developing the South end of my training field for
an Ultralight strip. My airstrip will be 830' in length with a 340' approach. Lots
of room for my Challenger!!
13 May 11 - Friday
the 13th - No excuse for Bob, Dave B and Dave G
out flying today. It's been a long week with lots of rain and more rain in the
forcast this coming week. Looks like the Fredericton area gave up some flying weather for
these guys to get in a flight.
12 May 11 -
Paragliding and Air Sports Event - The 16th
Annual Paragliding and Air Sports Festival is happening again this year in Parrsboro, Nova
Scotia the long weekend in May. The PPG pilots along with the paragliders and hang

Fundy's coast line and enjoy the Lobster Boil outside at Michael and Krista' s place on
Saturday Night. This event is always fun meeting new friends who enjoy the passion
to fly. If your able to attend make sure you order you lobster soon with Michael
Fuller.

7 May 11 - Early Flyers
- Bob, Dave and Real were up early this morning fly from the
Weyman's Field. Looks like more rain for the province in the next couple of days.
The good news is that the green grass is back.
3 May 11 - Happily
Flying!! - John had his 1st Powered Paragliding
flight this morning followed by 10 more for a total of 11 flights. He can't wait to
get back in the air and hopefully this evening weather permitting. John used to be
with the Canadian Forces Skyhawk ParachuteTeam and stated that parachuting had nothing on
PPG. Bob flew another flight this morning with his trike working towards his
qualification.
2 May 11 - Close
But No Cigar!! - This morning I was hoping for
decent flying weather but after my demo flight the air was too rough for John's first
flight. Bob looked on and gave me a hand setting John while we practiced forward
inflations with the paramotor. Later on we reviewed the inflations by video with a
good cup of coffee. Hopefully this evening the winds will cooperate for tomorrow
morning.
30 Apr 11 - Retired
Airborne Gunners - Bob flew several more
qualifying flights this morning showing great take off control with his Xeint
Trike. Afterwards I took John up on his first Tandem Flight and not long after Bob
took off to join us. It was great to see Three Retired Airborne Gunners back in the
air again. John had a chance to take control of the glider during the Tandem Flight
to practice proper coordinated turns. After landing, John continued with kiting
drills until we had to pack up before the rain arrived. We then went for an Early
Bird Breakfast at JJ's Diner to finish the morning. In the afternoon we went over assembly
and disassembly on John's Miniplane and when over training videos. Waiting for the next
weather window continues.

29 Apr 11 - John
PPG Training - Early this morning we continued
with more theory classes and started Kiting Drills. John picked up Kiting very
quickly. Later in the afternoon we completed all the In-flight drills to include
Emergency Procedures. After supper and after a long day of training John wrote his
Student Pilot Permit. Now waiting for good weather!!
28 Apr 11 - John
Arrives - John came down from Petawawa, Ontario
for Foot Launch Training. Myself and John go back a long way where we both served in
"E" Bty Para together in the late 80's. John arrived later on in the
afternoon so we completed the required paperwork to start the course as well as a quick
glance at his Miniplane Paramotor. Later on we completed the first theory class. We
called it a night and tomorrow morning we'll continuing on with his training.
27 Apr 11 - Good Friday
and Easter Monday - Kobus from Shebrooke, Quebec
also flew Good Friday and Easter Morning. Both flights were between 2.2 and 2.5 hrs
covered almost 180 km with two flights combined. He had fitted a 15 liter tank to
his paramotor so he can fly longer. What a beautiful area!
25 Apr 11 - Easter
Monday - Thanks to Bob for taking these pictures
along the way to the Captial City of Fredericton this Easter Monday. Looks
like a few more Fredericton pilots took advance of the Easter Monday Holiday.
25 Apr 11 - Bob's 1st
Solo!! - Yesterday was another training day with
more theory lessons and in the afternoon Bob wrote his Student Pilot Exam and was given
his permit to fly solo. We enjoyed Easter Dinner with Bob and his wife Jacquie
waiting for tomorrow to arrive. Bob and I were up very early this morning to make it
to Havelock for first light. We completed a few more training Tandems and then it
was Bob's turn to fly solo. Bob did very well and flew 13 flights this morning at
Havelock and his 14th flight in Sussex, NB. We're hoping on Mother Nature cooperating
tomorrow morning for more flights.

23 Apr 11 - Double
Airspace this morning - We went to Havelock
early this morning to continue flying. We did fly Tandem a little but
the winds picked up so we continued with inflation's and ground taxiing up and down the
runway. Bob, is getting very good at his kiting skills. When we returned to
Sussex the winds were low so we went back into the air for more tandem flying where Bob
was basically flying the trike with me as a passenger. We completed touch & go's
concentrating on ground taxiing and landing skills. Later we went over the flight
videos.
22 Apr 11 - 1st Student
in 2011 - Bob and I both served in "E"
Bty Para together in the 80's. Last year Bob took a Tandem Flight and was hooked
into getting back into the air again. Bob purchased an Xenit Trike and arrived today
for training. We covered the theory classes and quickly went over basic kiting
procedures before we went to Havelock Airfield to get in some Tandem flying. Bob had
a chance to get in some kiting while we flew tandem as he had controlled the glider in the
air and on the ground with my assistance. Bob did very well and tomorrow we'll be
allowing him to get in the back seat (Pilots position) to practice pulling up the glider
during initial inflation's. Good work Bob!!

15 Apr 11 - Saturday
Morning at Weyman's - Looks like Mark D and Jim
Mc flew Saturday morning with the Weyman's pilots. Nice to see a few guys from the
Reflex Squadron joining the Weyman Wingnuts enjoying an early Spring flight. This season
is going to be extremly busy and this sport is quickly growing in the Maritimes!! I 've
been flying plenty of PPG lately in Florida so I flew my Challenger II Saturday morning
from the Havelock Airflied. Had a great flight!!
