RIMOUSKI FLY IN 2005

  11 Feb 06 - Tracy's pics

This weekend my son had a High School hockey tournament, so there was no flying for me. However a fellow PPG pilot had the opportunity to get a few flights in and had sent me a few pics.  Any local PPG pilot that has interesting pics, I'll be happy to place them on my site for other pilots to view. Thanks Tracy, looks like you had a great flight.

02 Feb 06 - Potential students checking out the new XC.

When you first look at a the size of a paramotor, you tend to think that they are quite a bit  heavier than they actually are.  Rejean and Tim were presently surprised how light the XC really was. Tim had actually had come down for a Demo flight and after trying the XC on his back and a few questions, we were off to the field. Roger was at the field and had already completed his first flight. Tim had stayed at the field for most of the day and had the opportunity to see a PPG flying close up. Tim had said," it looks so much better live, than on video". After Tim departed, Roger and I took advantage of the good weather and completed a couple more flights to finish off the day. Great day!!!

Rejean,  trying out the XC accompanied by his wife Joy.                    Tim,  looking forward to Spring training!!!

11 Jan 06   -  This is how it all began for me!!!!

The first time I had the opportunity to see a paraglider fly was when I was in France in 1988. I was taking a French Paratrooper course as well as 120 mm Mortar conversion training. The mortar training was in the Pyrenees mountains and it was during that time when I seen my first Paraglider in the air. When I saw how they launched from the hillside, I was very impressed.  Myself and a couple of paratroopers watched these guys fly for quite a while and I had commented that,"I'm going to do that one day".

Unfortunately it took seventeen years later to complete this dream of flight, but now that I'm retired from the military I knew that I would have the time to enjoy this sport.

When I decided to conduct paraglider training, the closest school was in Nova Scotia.  The only problem that I had was with the area that I lived, there was not ample areas for free flight launches.  I went on the internet and had done some research and that's when I discovered Powered Paragliding. Well, that was the answer for me. I can take off from level ground and soar to whatever altitude that I wanted to fly.

The freedom of PPG flight was everything that I hoped for and more, it's the kind of sport that the more you fly, the more you want to fly.

The," Dream of flight" for most of us is just a fantasy, however because of the low cost and safety of PPG flight and training ,your dreams can come true. Try it, I guarantee you'll love it!!

05 Jan 06 - First Winter Flight of 2006

The weather today was excellent for winter PPG flights. It wasn't too cold to where your flights are short or it wasn't too warm where the ground was wet,  it was steady around (-5 Deg C). I called Roger last night and he was more then ready and willing to take one of his owed days off work.  I met Roger at the field around 10.00 am and we wasted no time in setting up, the winds were light and variable and changing direction regularly. In these conditions, patience and timing is a virtue and you must wait for the wind direction to coincide with your set up.  Roger and I had flown most of the day and completed several great flights. Looking forward to the next Winter Flight.  Life is always Good!!! after a long day of flying.
